What if vision isn’t something that happens only in the eyes?
I recently went back into my archives and rediscovered this presentation I gave several years ago on Advanced Vision Techniques. Listening to it today, I was struck by how much of what I was exploring then was already moving toward the work that interests me now: body-centered, experiential vision.
In this presentation, we explore the relationship between vision and breathing, awareness, movement, the two eyes, blur, light, and color.
Rather than approaching vision only as something to measure or correct, I invite you to experience it.
What happens when you slow down?
What do you notice in your breathing?
What happens when you experience one eye and then the other?
Can you feel color rather than identify it?
This is an archival presentation, so some of my language and perspectives have evolved since I recorded it. But the underlying inquiry feels more relevant to me than ever:
**Vision is not isolated in the eyeballs. We see through the state of our entire organism. **
Listen, experiment, and most importantly, notice your own experience.
